Bulldogs Win; Bears Fall - 10/11 Volleyball Results

The Algona Bulldog volleyball team improved to 7-1 in the NCC last night with a 3 games to 1 victory over Hampton Dumont. Your scores from the match: 25-18, 25-17. 23-25, and 25-17.

Leading the Bulldogs were Natalie Hackbarth with 11 kills and Rachel Nelson with 10 kills. Algona hosts its second invite of the year Saturday.

Algona still has a shot for a share of the NCC crown. Humboldt takes on Iowa Falls-Alden next Tuesday. The Bulldogs are tied with the Cadets with one conference loss and Humboldt is currelent undeafeted so the Wildcats will need to lose Tuesday. Algona does have one remaining conference match Thursday night with Webster City.

Bishop Garrigan ended their regular season on a sour note falling to Clear Lake 3 games to 1: 19-25, 20-25, 25-12, and 28-30. Christina Richter had 20 kills for the Bears with Emily Behr and Meredith Meyers combing for a 28 of 30 night serving with 7 aces.

As a team the Golden Bears were solid from the serving stripe connecting on 84 of 92 serves. The slated 13 aces. Macy Fickbohm lead the Golden Bears in blocks with 6.

Bishop Garrigan will open up their playoffs Tuesday on the road in Britt. We will have that game for you here on KLGA Hometown radio.

Other Area Games...

NSK went 3-0 last night at the Forest City Quadrangular. NSK knocked off Forest City 2 games to 1, before sweeping St. Ansgar and Lake Mills. The Eagles will take their 32-4 record to Winterset tomorrow for a tournament.

WBM over Britt West Hancock 3 games to 1: 25-10, 25-12, 23-25 & 26-24.

TRV fell to Belmond-Klemme 3 games to 1: 22-25, 25-23, 17-25, & 20-25.
