On Sunday, the Bishop Garrigan Volleyball team competed in the CYO and came away with a 4th place finish.
In Pool play, the Golden Bears knocked off Storm Lake St. Mary’s in 3 games and Spalding Catholic in 2-straight games but fell to Sioux City Heelan in 2-straight games.
Pool Play Scores:
Storm Lake St. Mary’s: 21-15, 21-23, & 15-5
Sioux City Heelan: 14-21 & 12-21
Spalding Catholic: 21-15 & 21-15
The 2-1 pool play record advanced the Golden Bears to the Championship Bracket where they fell to Carroll-Kemper and Lemars Gehlen in straight games for the 4th place finish.
Christina Richter made the all-CYO team with 29 kills on the day. Macy Fickbohm added 28 kills and 13 blocks for the Bears. Meredith Meyers had 20 kills with 5 aces. Cassie Vautier was 46 of 47 on serves with 9 aces. Jesie Rosenmeyer served up 78 assists on the day.
Bishop Garrigan closes out the regular season Thursday with a visit from Clear Lake. We will have that match here on KLGA hometown radio and also on myinfocentral.com with the AMU Webcast.
