Algona Boys First Cross Country Conference Championship since 1979

The North Central Conference Cross Country meet was ran last night in Fort Dodge and for the first time since 1979, the Algona Bulldogs are conference champions. All seven that ran for Algona finished in the top 20 even though the top 5 runners on the team count toward the team score.

Ryan McMahon picked up another 1st place finish with a time of 16:26 and Chad Rutledge notched 2nd place finishing 3 seconds behind his teammate. Both McMahon and Rutledge received All-Conference honors.

The Bulldog Girls edged Iowa Falls Alden for second at the conference race. Emily Eimers returned from injury to earn a sixth-place finish and All-Conference Honors with a time of 16:43. Annie Klepper just missed the top ten and All-conference considerations with a time of 17:02 and an 11th place finish.
